NgaOS — Islamic Daily Companion
A lifestyle web app for a Muslim's daily routine: location-aware prayer times, Al-Quran and Hadith libraries with daily selections, Qibla direction, Hijri calendar, and a built-in AI chatbot — wrapped in a clean, dark-mode-friendly interface.
// Overview
NgaOS bundles the tools a practicing Muslim opens several times a day into one app: what to do next (prayer schedule with countdown), what to read today (a daily ayat and hadith, complete with narration source and authenticity grading), and the references behind them (full Al-Quran and Hadith browsing, Qibla direction, Hijri calendar).
An integrated AI chatbot rounds out the experience — a general assistant living inside the same app, with user accounts and OTP-based password reset on the backend.
// The Challenge
These features already exist — scattered across five different apps with five different UX patterns, ads, and loading screens. The challenge was consolidation without bloat: fast navigation between daily-use features, correct location-aware prayer calculation, Arabic script rendering that respects proper Quran typography, and content presentation (source + authenticity) that users can trust at a glance.
// What I Built
Eight focused modules behind one consistent shell:
Prayer Schedule
Location-aware prayer times with a live "next prayer" countdown on the home dashboard.
Al-Quran & Hadith
Full browsing plus a curated "Ayat Hari Ini" and "Hadis Hari Ini" on the dashboard — with narration source and sahih grading visible.
Qibla & Hijri Calendar
Qibla direction and a Hijri calendar — the dashboard header itself shows the Hijri date daily.
AI Chatbot
A general-purpose assistant embedded in the app — my own orchestration concepts applied to a consumer feature.
Dark Mode
Full dark theme — designed for the late-night and pre-dawn reading windows this app actually gets used in.
Accounts with OTP
User registration and login with OTP-based password reset tokens on the backend.
// Results
NgaOS is live in production at ngaos.maglynx.web.id — eight modules, one container, zero paid infrastructure beyond the VPS I already run.
